Rosemary Wehr

SIGOURNEY ? Rosemary Gertrude Wehr, 96, of Sigourney, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in the Manor House in Sigourney.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 9 until 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. A memorial fund has been established. The Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Wehr was born Oct. 24, 1920, the daughter of John C. and Estella M. (Ritzinger) Strohman. She married Matthias Peter Wehr on Nov. 21, 1939, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.

She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1936 and worked as a legal secretary for Charles C. Heninger. She and her husband lived and farmed north of Sigourney all of their married life. She moved into Sigourney after her husband?s death on Nov. 6, 2005. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and the Listen A Bit Club.

Surviving are five daughters, Gertie Richardson and husband Tom of Sigourney, Bernie Sieren and husband Omer of Westphalia, Missouri, Cathi Currie and husband Al of Washington, Marian Foulks and husband Don of Pinellas Park, Florida, and Carol Wehr and Kim Kuddes of Iowa City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Matt.
