Roswell W. Wixom Sr., 87, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at the Veterans Medical Center in Iowa City.

Roswell was born March 17, 1934, in Keokuk, the son of Samuel "Bud" and Peggy (Lucas) Wixom. He served his country during peacetime in the United States Army. Roswell was united in marriage to Paulena Dvorak on June 28, 1952. They later divorced. He then married Glenda Meyers on May 7, 2013. They later divorced. He attended the Open Bible Church in Mount Pleasant.

He is survived by his children, Peggy Stuppio of Tyrone, Pa., Mary Jorgensen of Sparta, Wis., Bill Wixom Jr. of Salem and Paula Wagner of Winfield; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Darrell Wixom of Burlington.

Roswell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward Wixom and Dick Wixom.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Pastor Mike Johnson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. A memorial has been established in his memory. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
