Rudy Gingerich

      KALONA-Rudy Gingerich, 60, of Kalona, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., at Fairview Mennonite Church in rural Kalona, with the Rev. John L. Hershberger and the Rev. Perry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in rural Kalona. Visitation will be at the church today, from 4 to 8 p.m. Extended visitation will be on Saturday, from 2 to 8 p.m., with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Fairview Mennonite Church. Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of arrangements.

      Mr. Gingerich was born on Nov. 2, 1942, in Johnson County, to Linus and Mary (Chupp) Gingerich. He married Mary Anna Schlabach on April 22, 1971, in Johnson County.
