Russell E. Ellinger March 24, 1920 - December 26, 2003

Russell E. Ellinger, 83, of Kalona, died on Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

      The memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Shiloh church in Kalona with the Revs. Chuck Rogness, Ed Forbes and Don Gaudreau officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial has been established.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John Ellinger of DeWitt; a daughter, Virginia Farris of Dallas City, Ill; a brother, Herb Ellinger of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a sister, Carol Fulton of Glen Haven, Colo.; four stepsons, Kenneth Rich of North Hollywood, Calif., Wesley Rich and Steve Rich of Kalona, and Phil Rich of Crawfordsville; a stepdaughter, Marti Sebok of Kalona; and 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

      In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and one stepdaughter.
