FAIRFIELD ? Russell Lloyd Schafer, 89, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with words of comfort by the Rev. Dave Peterson and Ron Rominger. Burial with military rites will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to VFW Ladies Auxiliary (VA Hospital Fund) or to Wounded Warriors Project. Cards and memorials may be sent to 2253 Hwy. 34 East, Fairfield, IA 52556.
