Russell 'Speedy' Carruthers

      Russell 'Speedy' Carruthers, 83, of Keosauqua died Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2002 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center where he had been a resident for the past 4 months.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2002 at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Following the cremation, burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post 58, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.2561 and AMVETS Post No. 44, all of Mt. Pleasant. Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 - 8:30 Thursday evening. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society, Keosauqua Library, Friends of Lacey or the donor's choice.
