BRIGHTON ? Ruth Ann Schadt, 72, of Brighton died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, in Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Brighton United Church with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials for the Brighton Volunteer First Responders may be left at the funeral home or the church. Gould Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schadt was born Feb. 18, 1944, in Davenport, the daughter of Harry and Ruth Louise (Davis) Brown. She married Roger Schadt on Sept. 8, 1962, in Davenport.
She was raised in Davenport and graduated from Davenport High School. She and her husband moved to Brighton in 1971, where she worked in the Brighton Locker and for over 20 years at the McCleery-Cumming Company in Washington. She was a member of Abate of Iowa Chapter 14, and Women of the Wings, and enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Surviving are three children, Darby Dawson and husband Bobby of Washington, Tedra Schadt of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daymun Schadt and wife Cassandra of Brighton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tom Brown and wife Sandy, Kevin Brown and wife Lynn, Monte Brown and wife Lori, and Mark Brown and wife Kathy, all of Davenport; and two sisters, Sandy Henderson, and Jolene Foy and husband Ray, all of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Aug. 9, 1997; one infant daughter, Juli Ann; two brothers, Richard Brown, and Harry Jr. in infancy; and two sisters, Pamela Pendelton, and Jacqueline in infancy.
