Ruth Ann (Kannegiesser) Berkshire, 87, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Summit of Bettendorf surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth Ann was born October 19, 1936 in Burlington, IA. She was the daughter of Gerhard and Ruth Kannegiesser. Ruth Ann graduated from New London High School in 1954 and the Burlington Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She married Charles “Ervin” Berkshire on October 6, 1957. They celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Ruth Ann was a nurse at the Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute and was the school nurse with the New London Community School District for 28 years.

Those left to cherish Ruth Ann’s memory include her beloved husband, Ervin; children, Angela Bert, Michael (Usman) Berkshire; grandchildren, Blair (Rob) Miller, Stefanie (Joe) Miller, Drew (Shanna) Miller; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn and Mason Miller; brother, Bill (Mary) Kannegiesser; 4 nephews, 2 nieces, and their families. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Barbara Kannegiesser Gordon.

Graveside services will be held for Ruth Ann at Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union, IA at a date to be determined.
