Ruth 'Darlene' Manchester
Bella Vista, AR
Ruth 'Darlene' Manchester, 91, passed away at home on August 24, 2023. She was born in Iowa in Van Burean County to Glenn and Edith Reneker on April 24, 1932.
A 1949 graduate of Stockport High School, she began working at the Keosauqua Creamery. She made her way to Fairfield, IA, where she met Dale at the Maid-Rite. Dale Manchester and Darlene Reneker were married April 3, 1954, at the Fairfield First Christian Church. They are the proud parents of daughter, Cheryl Kay Cervenka of Plano, TX.
Darlene raised Cheryl, worked alongside Dale on their small acreage, and as a Teller at First National Bank. She loved square-dancing and Cardettes. Dale's job transfer with Michigan-Wisconsin (ANR) Pipeline, had them moving to Weatherford, Oklahoma, in the late 1970s.
In 1985, Dale and Darlene moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, to enjoy their retirement years. They learned to play golf. Darlene has been an active golf player with several Bella Vista 9-hole and 18-hole Women's Golf groups. She had a hole in one on July 7, 2005, and has never stopped trying to do it again. When she wasn't golfing, you could find her with a bowling team, chair yoga, or even at the swimming pool.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; Dale's family, Millie Creek, Harold Manchester, and Dean Manchester; her brother, Darrell Reneker, and his wife, Joan Reneker; and brother-in-law, Dr. Terrell Hoage.
Surviving her are daughter, Cheryl Kay Cervenka, and her husband, Mark; sister, Mary Lee Hoage; brother, William Daniel Reneker; and sister-in-law, Emily Reneker.
A memorial service in Bella Vista will be scheduled in the future.
Arrangements are made by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory where online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.
