Ruth E. Meyer

      KALONA-Ruth E. Meyer, 86, of Riverside, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Sharon Center United Methodist Church in rural Kalona, with the Rev. Doug Cue officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. There will be an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens in Iowa City.

      Mrs. Meyer was born Oct. 1, 1920, to Boyd and Elsie (Hammer) Gosnell. She married Lloyd Meyer on Sept. 18, 1943, in Iowa City. He preceded her in death in 2005.
