Ruth E. Morris

Ruth E. Morris, 93, of Washington, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, in the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a sudden stroke.

    Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with the Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating.  Burial will be at the Harrison Cemetery in rural Wapello.  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church where the family will receive friends until time of services and immediately following during a time of food and fellowship.  A memorial has been established to the John and Ruth Morris Welcome Center at Camp Wyoming in Wyoming, Iowa.  The Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Morris was born June 6, 1917, near Monticello, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Deischer) Howie.  She married John D. Morris on June 5, 1939, at her mother?s home in Monticello.
