Ruth Ellen McCalmont
Ruth Ellen McCalmont, 75, of Washington, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following complications from surgery.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Chuck Brock and the Rev. Cindy McCalmont officiating. Burial will be at White Oak Cemetery in Thornburg. Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is handling the arrangements. A memorial has been established for United Presbyterian Church in Washington.
Mrs. McCalmont was born on Feb. 28, 1929, in Highland Park, N.J., to Lambert and Margaret (Zuidema) Van Eerden. On Aug. 25, 1951, she married H. David McCalmont.
