Ruth M. Briggs April 26, 1917 - July 24, 2005

      Ruth M. Briggs, 88, of Winfield, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 29 at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with Fred Koffend and Mary Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at the funeral home. The family will meet with friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Winfield United Methodist Church and Sunrise Terrace Care Center.

      Survivors include two sons, Keith Briggs of Grinnell, and Donald Briggs of Winfield; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
