Ruth Maxine Gipple

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Ruth Maxine Gipple, 85, of Altoona, and formerly of Ainsworth, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Cathy Whitlatch officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

      Mrs. Gipple was born on May 5, 1919, in West Grove, to John William and Ethel (Hardman) Sprouse. On Dec. 24, 1937, she married William "Bill" Edward Gipple in Davenport.
