Sadie Elizabeth James

      Sadie Elizabeth James, 90, of Winfield, formerly of Ainsworth and Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Sunrise Terrace Nursing Home in Winfield, following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec.17, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Scott Nesbitt officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus City. Visitation will begin at noon, Friday, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30, Friday evening. Memorials have been established for the Ainsworth First Responders or the Crawfordsville First Responders.

      Mrs. James was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Washington County, to Alfred and Julia Maud (Kauffman) Raymond. She married Francis Bernard James in Rock Island, Ill., on May 10, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2004.
