Sandra Orr

Sandra Sue (Brewer) Orr, 67, of Washington, died Friday, June 10, 2016, in Pearl Valley Rehabilitation Center in Washington due to a lengthy illness.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Chaplain Donald Combs officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Compassus and the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Orr was born March 24, 1949, in Fairfield, the daughter of Kenneth and Louise (Conover) Brewer. She married William Clarence Orr, whom she had met at Fairfield High School, in 1967.

She attended Fairfield High School. She worked at the Halcyon House for 30 years and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She enjoyed going to the family cabin in Columbus Junction, and baking, making candy, crafting and other activities.

Surviving are her husband, Bill, of Washington; two children, Timothy Orr and wife Traci of San Antonio, Texas, and Tammy Vasquez of Washington; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Orr; one son-in-law, Ruben Vasquez; and one grandson.
