Sandra “Sandy” K. DeWolf, 82, of Washington, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Addington Place in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. The body will be cremated following the service. The family will greet friends Friday, August 26, 2022, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A memorial fund has been established for St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Sandy DeWolf was born July 25, 1940, in Washington, the daughter of Clarence and June (Messenger) Griffin. She graduated from Washington High School and in 1959 she was united in marriage to Dean DeWolf in Washington. Sandy worked at a variety of places, including Grandma’s House, Sunflower and the Calendar Factory. She loved playing Canasta, reading mysteries, watching "Murder She Wrote," "Dark Shadows," "Cheyenne" and scary movies.
Survivors include two children, Bill (Sue) DeWolf of Mt. Pleasant and Jennifer (Duane) Miller of Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren, Skyler, Savannah, Dalton, Eric, Jordan, Jeremy, JD and Austin; five great-grandchildren, Lawson, Quint, Brynn, Kinsley and Wyatt; and one brother, Roger Griffin of Wellman.
Preceding Sandy in death were her parents; her husband, Dean, on August 30, 2021; a daughter, Sherry Dietrich; four siblings, Doris, Leonard, Nadine and Charles; and her special companion, Buddy.
