Sarah E. Swift, 68, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at her home in Salem.
Sarah was born on June 9, 1954, in Waynesville, Missouri, the daughter of Loren and Ann (Gilbert) Bramel. Sarah graduated from Newburg High School with the class of 1972. Following graduation, she moved to Iowa. Sarah was united in marriage to Terry Swift and they later separated. She was a very strong willed lady, but was always there to lend a helping hand to those who were in need. Sarah ran a day care in Salem for a number of years and was known as having taken care of most of the kids in town. She was a member of the Salem Friends Church and helped out in any way she could. She loved watching cooking, baking, home renovation shows and Judge Judy. Sarah adored her granddaughter Paisley.
She is survived by her daughter, Keshia (Joseph) Garrett of Salem; her granddaughter, Paisley; her mother, Ann Bramel; her brother, Jeff (Stacy) Bramel all of Newburg, Missouri; along with nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; along with a very dear friend, Debbie Wilson.
Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Loren; one sister, Jerry Alexander; and two brothers, Larry Bramel and Ernest Bramel.
A Celebration of Sarah’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at the Salem Friends Church in Salem, with Pastor Deb Savage officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Following the service, there will be a time of food and fellowship at the church.
