Sarah Lynn Zimmer, 39, of Fairfield, passed away March 8, 2020, at Jefferson County Health Center surrounded by her family. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Behner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13,

at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will be at Batavia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or Marion Avenue Baptist Church (Bus Ministry). Cards and memorials may be mailed to: Calvin Helterbran, 1196 Mahogany Ave., Fairfield, IA 52556.

Sarah was born April 4, 1980, to Calvin Helterbran and Rebecca (Schmitter) Giberson. She married Robert L. Zimmer and later divorced. Sarah lived in the Fairfield area all her life. She graduated from Pekin High School with the Class of 1998, and later earned a BAS degree in accounting. Due to illness, she became a (do it all for them) stay-at-home mom. Sarah loved baking with her children and following their numerous activities. When her kids were younger, she coached their T-ball teams. She loved spending time with her family. Sarah was an Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed riding horses when she was younger.

Sarah will be missed by her children, Gabriel, Madelynn, Alyssa and Savana Zimmer; her parents, Calvin (Sherri) Helterbran of Fairfield and Rebecca (William) Giberson of Packwood; siblings, Joshua Helterbran of Birmingham, Jason (Katie) Helterbran of Mount Pleasant, Hannah (Allen) Durflinger of Bladensburg, Chadwick (Whitney)Giberson of Richland, Niccole Giberson of Packwood, Joe Helterbran, John Helterbran, Jacob Helterbran and James Helterbran, all of Fairfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Dixie Schmitter, Paul and Betty Helterbran; uncles, Mark Schmitter and Edward Helterbran; aunt, Pauline Helterbran; and infant nephew, Joshua Helterbran.
