Sawyer Schlatter

MOUNT PLEASANT ? Sawyer Lorenze Henry Schlatter, 1 month old, of rural Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at his home.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with the family present. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 30, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Carl and Elaine Vass officiating. Gifts of love and friendship may be given to the Ronald McDonald House.

Sawyer was born Feb. 21, 2017, in Iowa City, the son of Bailey Emilia Schlatter and Daniel Ray Brown. He was a contented baby who smiled a lot and looked around with his big blue eyes.

Surviving are his mother and his father; one sister, Scarlett Schlatter; his grandparents, Jerry Guengerich and wife Angie of Washington, Darin Schlatter and wife Megan of Trenton, Missouri, Shelly Jones Johnson of Ringgold, Georgia, and Danny Brown and wife Jennifer of Montgomery, Alabama; his great-grandparents, Emil Schlatter and wife Phyllis of Mount Pleasant, Wilson Guengerich and wife Karen of Washington, and Cindy Henry of Burlington; 12 aunts and uncles; and three cousins.
