Scott James Linnenburger "Cheezer", 56, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, passed away at 4:46 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

He was born on May 25, 1969, in Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Carolyn (Muntz) Linnenburger.

He is survived by his mother: Carolyn Higgins of Keokuk, Iowa; uncles: Terry Muntz, Dale (Carol) Muntz and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Scott was a 1988 graduate of Harmony High School and later earned a degree in physical education from Iowa Wesleyan College. He was an avid sports fan, with a special love for the Michigan Wolverines. Scott worked at McDonald’s for many years, where he served as a manager and later as head of maintenance. He was deeply loved by many and had several friends who were truly like family to him

His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson. A memorial fund has been established in his memory. A gathering to honor and celebrate his life will be held by friends at a later date.
