Sharon Kay Evans

      Sharon Kay Evans, 63, of Washington died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 in her residence after a lengthy battle with emphysema.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, in the Marion Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Washington County.

      Mrs. Evans was born July 22, 1943 in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Richard and Nadine (Harding) Hale. She married David Oliver Evans on Feb. 15, 1974 in Tempe, Ariz. She had previously been married to David William Slater.
