Sheila K. Hoaglin January 13, 1942 - August 30, 2003

      Sheila Kay Hoaglin, 61, of Canton, Mo., formerly of Keosauqua and Hillsboro, died at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in an auto accident at the junction of Highway 2 and Van Buren County Route W-40, south of Bonaparte.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Burial will be in Pittsburg Cemetery, west of Keosauqua. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to her grandsons' education and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at Route 1, Box 66 A, Canton, MO 63435.

      Survivors include two daughters, Brandi Ray of Canton, Mo., and Angela Hoaglin of Fort Madison; a son, Jason Hoaglin of Canton, Mo.; four grandchildren; her stepfather, Ivan Mitchell of Bonaparte; two sisters, Mary Ann Plemmons of Battletown, Ky., and Carole and her husband Don Witte of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and four brothers, Don and his wife Phyllis Mitchell, and Matt and his wife Carol Mitchell, all of Bonaparte, Mark and his wife Karen Mitchell of Salem, and Todd and his wife Brenda Mitchell of Peosta.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mindy Hoaglin; and a brother, Richard Sherod.
