Sheila Rae Foreman, 77, died Saturday, February 8, 2025 at The Bridges in Ankeny. A Celebration of Sheila’s Life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest in her family plot located in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pleasant Plain, Iowa.

Sheila was born February 15, 1947 in Washington, Iowa to Robert H. and Mary Emma (Deutsch) Shelangoski. On June 28, 1989 she married Paul D. Foreman in Minneapolis, Minn. For over 30 years Sheila worked in human resources helping a number of small and medium sized businesses. When she and Paul relocated to Des Moines, Sheila decided to retire. Paul followed her example, retiring in July of 2019. The couple enjoyed their time together, shopping, taking a few trips to see family and friends, and just relaxing without any work obligations.

Over the years, Sheila enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved plants that would attract butterflies. When she moved to a townhome, she re-created her butterfly garden with colorful pots of plants on her deck. In these later years, Sheila’s little silky terrier, Boo-Boo, has become such an important part of her life.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Paul D. Foreman of West Des Moines; children: David C. Stewart of St. Peters, Mo., Stephanie Stewart of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren: Micah and Zoie Stewart, Casidy and Cayden Page. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; older brother, Gary Robert Shelangoski; and infant brother, Stephen Bruce Shelangoski.
