Sherry Marie (Bush) Norman, age 87, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Parkview Manor in Wellman, Iowa, following a prolonged illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Flanders officiating. Calling hours will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday evening. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Hospice Compassus or the Alzheimer’s Association. Sherry was born July 17, 1935, in Keosauqua, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Gladys (Story) Anderson. She attended school in West Chester, Iowa, and graduated from West Chester High School in 1954. Sherry was voted Homecoming Queen in 1953. She was married to Loren Bush shortly after her graduation. They later divorced. During her marriage with Loren, Sherry helped on the family farm doing chores, gardening and raising their five sons. She also worked at Holten’s Fashions in Washington and later worked at Walkers Clothing Store.
Sherry was later married to William Norman. While married to William she became content with being a housewife and they enjoyed wintering in Texas.
She attended the United Methodist Church in Washington. She enjoyed shopping and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Family was very important to Sherry. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s school events, sporting events and dance recitals whenever possible.
She is survived by five sons: Rick (Becky) Bush of Washington, Iowa; Randy Bush of West Chester, Iowa; Roger (Laurie) Bush of Kalona, Iowa; Rob Bush of Washington, Iowa; and Ron Bush of Washington, Iowa; six grandchildren: Jamie Bush, Jeremy Bush, Roxanne Bush, Rochelle Bush-Allen, Kerra Hibner and Cheyanne Bush; and eight great-grandchildren.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry “Andy” Anderson; sister, Joan Kerr; and husband, William Norman.
