Shirley A. Porter Dunbar

Shirley A. Porter Dunbar, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Jeff Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin after noon today at the memorial chapel, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shirley Dunbar Memorial.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra and her husband Terrell Coon of Mt. Pleasant, and Vicky and her husband Luis Guillen of Harlingen, Texas; three sons, Mark Porter of West Liberty, Steven and his wife Tamara Porter of Ainsworth, and Gary Dunbar of Egan, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Dorothy and her husband George Kall and Linda and her husband Stanley Smith, all of Rock Island, Marion Romine of Mt. Pleasant, Virginia Jensen and Betty Davis, both of Moline, Ill., Jane Overton of Bettendorf, and Molly and her husband Lindy Cummins of Des Moines; and a special friend, Bill McClure of Mt. Pleasant.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Douglas Porter; a granddaughter; and two brothers, Kenneth and Daniel Jacobs.
