Shirley A. Porter Dunbar

      Shirley A. Porter Dunbar, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Henry County Health Center.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Jeff Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation began at noon today at the funeral home and will continue this evening, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in the name of Shirley Dunbar.

      Mrs. Dunbar was born on March 30, 1936, in Rock Island, Ill., to Clarence Raymond and Helen Leona (Brown) Jacobs. In 1959, she married Thad Porter; they later divorced. On April 18, 1970, she married Fred Dunbar in Branson, Mo.
