Shirley Anne Karr, age 73, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Keota Cemetery. Shirley was born on March 26, 1952, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Betty (Miller) Stoutner. She graduated from Keota High School in 1970. On March 29, 1982, Shirley married Greggory Karr in Wellman, Iowa.

Shirley had made her home in Washington for the past 20 years. Earlier in life, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Maplewood Manor in Keota. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a pinochle club in Keota. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, whom she adored dearly.

She is survived by her three children: daughter, Brooksie (Heath) Peiffer of Washington, Iowa; son, Joseph Karr of Washington, Iowa; and son, Bobby Karr (Lauren Herron) of Keota, Iowa; 12 grandchildren: Hailey, Sean, Harper, Lily, Joseph, Ely, Olivia, Hazel, Keegan, Milania, Ridge, and Kimber; along with her three siblings: sister, Charlotte (Doug) Flander of Clive, Iowa; sister, Glenda (Gene) Hammen of Keota, Iowa; and brother, Kenny Stoutner of Tiffin, Iowa.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Greggory, in 2014.
