Shirley Eden

LONE TREE ? Shirley Ann Eden, 86, of Lone Tree, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, in Pioneer Park in Lone Tree.

A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.

Mrs. Eden was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Iowa City, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Villhauer) Mills. She married James Edwin Eden on June 19, 1949, in Iowa City.

She graduated from Lone Tree Community Schools. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed taking care of outdoor flowers, ice skating, sewing, quilting a quilt for each of her grandchildren, watching her favorite NFL team, the Indianapolis Colts, baking pecan rolls and cheesecakes, making her famous noodles, and taking her children fishing. She was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are four children, Loren Eden and wife Linda of Lone Tree, Randell Eden and wife Kellie of Lone Tree, Ed Eden of Lone Tree, and Becky Meyer and husband Ron of Solon; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Ronan and husband Jim of Lone Tree; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, in 2012; and two brothers, Ed, and Robert Mills.
