Shirley J. Conry, 89, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Washington, died Friday,
Feb. 7, 2020, at UnityPoint Living Center West in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Celebration of Life services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Calling hours will begin
9 a.m. Tuesday at the Jones
& Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Shirley was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Clark T. and Margaret C. (Koehler) Hopping. She attended school in Columbus Junction, Iowa, graduating from high school in 1948. Shirley was married to Robert Conry on April 10, 1949, in Haskins, Iowa. They later divorced.
Shirley lived in Ainsworth, Oskaloosa and Washington, Iowa, before moving to Cedar Rapids in 2015. She was a homemaker and provided Home Day Care for several families in Washington. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds, going to auctions, genealogy, listening to music and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Bulls fan. She enjoyed collecting items and was especially proud of her owl collection.
She is survived by her son, Gary Conry and wife Verna of University Park, Iowa; son, Dale Conry of Ainsworth, Iowa; son Clark "Dean" Conry of Washington, Iowa; five grandchildren, Brian Conry and wife Cara of Bentonsville, Ark., Jennifer Conry of Ainsworth, Iowa, Heather Woodson and husband Donald of Dixon, Mo., Caley Graham and husband Mike of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Heather Edwards of Washington, Iowa; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hopping.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Amber Conry; brother, Robert Hopping; and two sisters, Virginia Moore and Margaret "Peg" Reed.
