Stanley Chambers

KEOTA ? Stanley Chambers, 70, of Harper, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at his home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 20, at Holy Trinity Parish ? St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with the Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries ? St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 5 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a wake service at 5 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Chambers was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Fairfield, the son of Raymond and Beverly (Killian) Chambers. He married Donna Snakenberg on Aug. 30, 1969, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper.

He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1963 and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at Amana Refrigeration for 40 years and enjoyed keeping busy, fixing things, going for drives, bowling, golfing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Donna, of Harper; one son, Michael Chambers and wife Jacqueline of Van Horne; two grandchildren; and one brother, Steve Chambers and wife Sally of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
