Stanley Dwain Burkholder, 92, of Washington, died Friday, October 29, 2021, at the United Presbyterian
Home in Washington.
Funeral services are set
for 11 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021, at the Bethel Church with Pastor Curt Kuhns officiating. The service will
be livestreamed on the
Beatty-Peterseim Facebook page. Burial will follow in the Bethel cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the church. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral, Cremation Care and Monument Service is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Bethel Church or Crooked Creek Christian Camp.
Stanley was born June 7, 1929, on a farm north of Wellman, IA, the son of Christian and Emma Ellen (Yoder) Burkholder. He was united in marriage to Elsie Irene Reschly, September 12, 1948, in Wellman, IA.
He was a farm hand and carpenter for over 30 years, working for Wayland Carpenter Shop and Graber Home Improvement. He also drove a bus for WACO Schools. He was a faithful member of the Bethel Church, 911 board for 16 years, Gideons and Lions Club for 33 years.
Survivors include children, Dwain (Kathleen) Burkholder of Ocala, FL, Steven Burkholder of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jean (William) Molander of Weeki Wachee, FL, Warren Burkholder of Marion, IA, Suzanne (Sam) Smith of Columbus Junction, IA, and Marlene (Scott) Carver of Trenton, IA; brothers, Donald Burkholder, Lathrop, MO, Roger (Sherri) Burkholder, Palm Coast, FL, sisters, Opal Reschly, Crawfordsville, and Mary Jane (Omer) Troyer, North Port FL; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Elta; wife, Elsie, Nov. 5, 2015; brothers, John, Daniel, Ernest, Oliver and an infant brother.
