Stanley Ward Singer

      Stanley Ward Singer, 90, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, following an extended illness.

      A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer and the Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Interment will be in Friends Cemetery in Richland.

      Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

      Memorials have been established for the service projects of the Kiwanis AM'ers.

      Mr. Singer was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Richland, Mo., the son of John and Ellen Pope Singer. He married Marion Bray Oct. 6, 1940, in Ottumwa.
