Stella Magdalena Wenger

Stella Magdalena Wenger, 84, of Wayland, died early Friday morning, Feb. 18, 2005, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      A celebration of life was at 11 a.m. today at Bethel Mennonite Church near Wayland, with Pastor Phil Slabaugh officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Bethel Mennonite Church. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Alice and her husband Norman Hsu and Joanne and her husband Bob den Bleyker, all of Los Angeles, Lois and her husband Gerry Klopfenstein and Marilyn and her husband Larry Hershberger, all of Wayland, and Ruth and her husband Lynn Brenneman of Bentonville, Ark.; three sons, Richard and his wife Ruth Wenger of Brownsville, Ore., and Rod and his wife Janice Wenger and Gary and his wife Myrna Wenger, all of Wayland; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon B. and his wife Jean Roth of Mt. Pleasant, and Edwin and his wife Marianna Roth of Carlsbad, N.M.; and a sister, Lucille Swartzendruber of Hesston, Kan.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister and an infant daughter, Mary Kay.
