Stephen Krantz

LIBERTY CITY, Texas ? Stephen Ray Krantz, 69, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at his home following an illness.

Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington at a later date. The family has requested any donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Krantz was raised in Riverside, and spent most of his life in his home state of Iowa. He moved to the Longview, Texas, area in 1994. Working in car sales for many years, he was a small-business owner in both Iowa and Texas. He had a passion for fishing and hunting. Enjoying the outdoors, he loved spending time on his boat or at his deer camp. He used to play guitar and sing for fun and recreation. He took numerous road trips to visit family, especially grandchildren, and friends.

Surviving are one son, Todd Krantz and wife Julie of Oak Harbor, Washington; three grandchildren; his longtime companion, Shirley King of Liberty City, Texas; three brothers, Dallas Krantz, Tim Krantz, and Mike Krantz and wife Carla; one sister, Cheryl Yeggy and husband Larry; and nephews, nieces, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Troy Krantz; his parents, Ernie and Isabelle Krantz; and one brother, Ronnie Krantz.
