Steven Wayne Bowman,

71, of New London, died Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Born May 18, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Clinton and Marcella (Hartman) Bowman. He married Barbara Bauman on May 18, 1991.

Steve worked for the Burlington Basket Factory

for many years, in addition

he worked as a dishwasher at many Burlington area restaurants, Naifeh's grocery store and mowed lawns.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

He loved bowling and bowled for many years in Burlington, Mount Pleasant and Fort Madison and made many friends. Steve loved playing and watching baseball, from Burlington Bees to the Chicago Cubs games. He enjoyed attending the races at 34 Raceway, going out to eat, dancing with Barb and working in his yard. Steve was always happy and positive and never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bowman of New London; his father, Clinton Bowman of Burlington; one niece; two great-nieces; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Leonard Bowman.

The funeral service for Mr. Bowman will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Christopher Roepke will officiate. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, rural Mount Union. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the church where the family will receive friends. A service of the word will be held at 7 p.m.
