Born on January 22, 1952, Steve graduated from Fairfield High School in 1971, where he was a proud member of the football team, a wrestler, and active in the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
On March 19, 1971, Steve married Susan Swartzwelter. That same year, they welcomed their son Jeremy.
Steve owned and operated Booth Farms, raising hogs, corn, beans, hay, and cattle until his retirement. He was also active for many years in the Iowa Pork Producers.
Outside of farming, Steve found joy in spending time with friends, playing golf, and passionately cheering on the Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball teams. He was a member of the Fairfield Elks club for 45 years, and a longtime member of the Walton Club where he spent several years serving on the board.
Steve took great pride in his family, especially his son Jeremy and granddaughters Ryan Booth of Winfield, IA, and Darby Booth of Tiffin, IA. His joy in their accomplishments and presence was immeasurable.
He is survived by his wife Susan; son Jeremy Booth of Keosauqua, IA; granddaughters Ryan and Darby; two sisters, Shirley Brown and Pat Booth, both of Fairfield, IA, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Booth, mother Wilda Booth, and sister Marilyn Booth.
Steve will be remembered for his humor, his passion for farming, and the pride he carried for those closest to him.
