Susie M. Turnbull, age 58, of Marengo passed away unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Pastor Chris Navurskis of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the Marengo Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is caring for Susie and her family.

Susie is survived by her parents Tom and Sheryl Sandersfeld of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, James David Turnbull.

Susan McNairn Turnbull was born September 30, 1966, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of James Turnbull and Sheryl Simmons. She graduated from Iowa Valley High School with the Class of 1985. Susie attended Iowa State University and Towson University in Baltimore. She graduated in 1999, with a degree in art and psychology. Susie served as a Youth Counselor at Four Oaks, worked for ACT in Iowa City, and she served as a director of River Valley District For Arts. She owned Red Dog. Black Dog. Art and Ceramics in Marengo. Susie also worked as a reporter and photographer for the Marengo Pioneer Republican. In her free time, Susie enjoyed all things art and Border Collie dogs. She will be greatly missed by many.
