BETTENDORF ? Tearese (Collins) Simmering, 64, of Bettendorf, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, in the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at St. Anthony?s Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Centro Maya Project. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Simmering was born Jan. 8, 1951, in Davenport, the daughter of Edward and Kathleen (Lotspeich) Collins. She married Ken Dies on Sept. 13, 1969. The couple later divorced. She married Ron Simmering on June 18, 1982.
She had many jobs throughout her life, including working at the Davenport Public Library. But her most important and cherished ?job? was being a mother and grandmother to her loving family. She enjoyed shopping and traveling, and was a member of the Mississippi Valley Hosta Society.
Surviving are her husband, Ron Simmering; three sons, Jamie Dies of Davenport, David Dies and wife Ronda of Eldridge, and Mike Simmering and wife Nicole of Davenport; one daughter, Melissa Simmering and Dana McClanahan of Davenport; four grandchildren; one brother, Jeff Collins and wife Mitzie of Naples, Florida; one sister-in-law, Kay Collins of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Patrick.
