Ted Watson

      Ted Watson, 58, of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Henry County Health Center.

      The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Madison, Fla. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

      Mr. Watson was born Sept.29, 1942 in Saint Petersburg, Fla., the son of Miles Theodore and Florence Carpenter Watson. He married Paulena Dvorak on July 2, 1985 in Kahoka, Mo. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He moved to the Mt. Pleasant area in 1974 and worked several years at Heatilator. He enjoyed country music, camping, fishing, and watching wrestling.

      Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ted Watson of Mt. Pleasant, Bill and Cindy Wixom of Salem and Trevor and Kelly White of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Peggy Cox, Mary Russel, and Paula and Ronald Wagner, all of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Vera Tuten of Madison, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
