Teresa Freshour, 100, of Robins, and formerly of Victor, died on Thursday, December
26, 2024 in Robins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2024, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Victor.
Memorials may be designated to Hospice of Mercy in Hiawatha and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

Teresa Bernadette (Burry) Freshour was born on November 23, 1924, in Victor, Iowa, to August and Mary (Murtha) Burry. Teresa attended St. John's Parochial School and worshiped at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor, where her faith remained a cornerstone of her life. On February 14, 1942, Teresa was united in marriage to Chester Freshour at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri. During World War II, she resided in Marengo, Iowa, while Chester served in the United States Army. In 1947, the couple
returned to Victor, where they farmed together until retirement.
Teresa was a devoted member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and an active participant in the Altar and Rosary Society. She worked at the Style and Economy Store in Marengo for five years and later as a receptionist for Dr. Robert Meger and Dr. Kitti Kalambaheti until her retirement in 1961. Teresa's steadfast faith and boundless love for her family defined her life. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, canning, helping others, and volunteering at her church.
Teresa will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family and community, and her kind and generous spirit. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Teresa is survived by her son, Darrel (Sherry) Freshour of Robins, IA; her granddaughters, Keri Rockicki and Karla Farrell of Pottstown, PA; her niece Cheryl Richardson; and her step-grandson, Corey (Holly) Baxa of Marion, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; her brothers, Louis Burry, Bernard Burry, and James Burry; her sister, Margaret Ringler; her half-brother, Don Murtha; and her sister-in-law, Moden Burry.
