Terry L. Swailes

Terry L. Swailes, 60, of New London, died Friday, Nov. 21 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Elliott Chapel in New London, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26., with the Rev. Brian Swafford officiating. Burial will be at Grant Cemetery at a later date, with military rites by the Henry County Honor Guard.

Memorials have been established for the New London Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7641, in New London and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.

He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of John and Inez Johnson Swailes. On June 21, 1971, he married Susan Wandling in Clinton. They later divorced.
