Terry Wayne Evans, 53, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his residence following a sudden illness.

Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 22, at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Sunday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Terry's daughters. Terry was born December 1, 1967, the son of Paul and Sharon (Erwin) Evans. He attended school in Washington, where he graduated from high school in 1986. Terry later attended William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where he played football and wrestled.

After college, Terry traveled with Alert Steel Fabricators. He settled in Knoxville, Illinois, where he owned and operated Evans Industrial until 2006. In 2010, he returned to Washington where he raised his daughters. He worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Iowa, and was presently employed at Alliant Energy. Terry loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling to watch his kids and grandkids in their many activities. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on drives with his dad, cooking, gardening and canning. Terry was an avid hockey fan and was a big fan of the St. Louis Blues. Terry took care of all of his family and was always putting the needs of others before his own. He truly had a heart bigger than life.

He is survived by three daughters, Lauren (Josh) Gerdes of Minonk, Illinois; Stephanie Evans of Peru, Illinois; and Alexi Evans of Washington, Iowa; five grandchildren, Layten, Haisley and Hayden Gerdes; Taityn and Riverlyn Nunez; long-time partner, Lorri Walker of Knoxville, Illinois; father, Paul "Butch" Evans of Washington, Iowa; sister, Tamara (Tom) Vittetoe of Washington, Iowa; brother, Tom (Julie) Evans of Washington, Iowa; nine nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother in 2018.
