The Rev. E. Edward Philgreen,

      The Rev. E. Edward Philgreen, 78, of Washington died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 in Washington following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Washington with Dr. Robert Burkhart and the Rev. Julie Poulson officiating. Visitation will be held in the United Methodist Church from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive friends. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the new chapel at Halcyon House.

      Mr. Philgreen was born July 15, 1928 in Topeka, Kan., the son of Ernest Phillip and Veda Urvilla (Hart) Philgreen. He married Pauline Sywassink on June 6, 1954 in Wesley United Methodist Church in Muscatine.
