The Rev. John D. Woodin

      KALONA-The Rev. John D. Woodin, 74, of Kalona, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m., at Kalona United Christian and Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rolland Smith, the Rev. Mark Martin, and the Rev. Bill Rathbun officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with family present. Extended visitation will be Wednesday, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Kalona United Christian and Baptist Church or the Kalona Historical Society.

      Rev. Woodin was born in Grand Island, Neb., to Dr. John G. and Agnes Wyoming (Switzer) Woodin, on Oct. 26, 1930. He married Marilyn Jungclaus on June 15, 1952, in Grand Island, Neb.
