Thelma Metcalf Wehr

      Thelma Edell Metcalf Wehr, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Henry County Health Center.

      The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Edward R. Peterson, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends are also invited to share in a lunch prior to the funeral service, which will be served at noon in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church.

      Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Weir and Kimzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. An Order of Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Bethlehem Chapter No. 38 of the OES.

      Memorials have been established for First United Methodist Church, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.

      Mrs. Wehr was born March 12, 1912, east of Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Albert Raymond and Ruth Elizabeth Campbell Cornick. On Aug. 30, 1930, she married John Winfield Metcalf in New London.
