Thomas B. Mills, 98, of Keota, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at the Washington County Hospital.

Tom was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Bushnell, Ill., to Tom and Alice (Bayliss) Mills. When Tom was six, the family moved to North Dakota until 1930, when they moved to Keota. He graduated from Keota High School, then served in the Air Force during World War II. On Aug. 24, 1952, he married Shirley May Duncan at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. Tom worked at Farmers Savings Bank for over 50 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed banking, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Keota; two children, Debra Mills-Stigers and husband, Dan, of Washington and Steven Mills and friend, Kim Gatliff, of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Michael and Robert Mills; two daughters, Sherri and Angela Mills; and two brothers, John (Jack) and James Mills.

Private family services will be held and burial will be at a later date at Keota Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for Keota QRS or Keota Fire Department.
