THOMAS BAILEY

Thomas Bailey was born December 5, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Paul and Fern (Benell) Bailey. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1962. Tom farmed for many years, and was an Associate at Mid-Prairie Schools. Tom passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona from PSP "Progressive Supranuclear Palsy" at the age of 75 years.

Tom is survived by his wife Jacqueline of Riverside; a daughter Kara (Steve) Groenewold of Riverside; 2 sons: Josh (Barbi Smith) Bailey of Colorado Springs, CO; Jace (Kendra Conrad) Bailey of Riverside; 9 grandchildren; a brother Kirk (Karma) Bailey of Kalona. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Seth Bailey, his in-laws Idres and Florence Hill, and a brother-in-law Kay Hill.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the East Union Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the South Sharon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home, The Courage Ride and Washington County Hospice.
