Thomas Herbert 'Herb' Newell

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION-Thomas Herbert "Herb" Newell, 94, of Columbus Junction, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Ralph Draper officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home. A general memorial has been established.

      Mr. Newell was born on Sept. 26, 1909, in Concord Township near Columbus Junction, to Hugh Robson and Sarah Matilda (Shellabarger) Newell. On March 3, 1932, he married Mildred Mary Hill in Columbus Junction.
