Thomas Joseph Smith

Thomas Joseph Smith, 56, of Fairfield died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Friends Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Elmore officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

      A family visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials have been established to the Lord's Cupboard and Fairfield Little League. In honor of Tom's memory and his philosophy of life, the family requests that each person reach out and help another and volunteer time for a good cause.

      Mr. Smith was born on Aug. 20, 1949, in Keosauqua, the son of Carroll and Joanne King Smith. He married Lorene "Lori" Peterson Nov. 11, 1969, in Fairfield.
